There is something really special about a winter wedding at Log Haven. Tucked up Millcreek Canyon just outside Salt Lake City, this venue feels like a cozy mountain retreat the moment you arrive. This wedding was the perfect example of how beautiful a small, intimate celebration can be. With just close friends and family there to celebrate, the entire morning felt relaxed, joyful, and full of genuine connection!

A Cozy Ceremony Tent for This Winter Wedding at Log Haven
One thing that makes a winter wedding at Log Haven so great is how the venue sets everything up to still give you that outdoor mountain feel, even in the colder months. During the winter season, Log Haven sets up a ceremony tent so couples can still get married surrounded by the canyon views while staying warm and comfortable. The soft natural light coming through the tent and the winter scenery outside created such a calm, beautiful atmosphere for the ceremony.
Because this was a smaller celebration, the ceremony felt incredibly personal. Everyone gathered close together as vows were shared, and you could truly feel how much love and support filled the space. Intimate weddings like this always have such a special energy, when everyone there is truly part of the couple’s story, the whole experience just feels more meaningful!

Waterfall Portraits and Exploring the Canyon
After lunch, we stepped outside for wedding party photos and portraits around the property. One of my favorite things about a winter wedding at Log Haven is how many beautiful spots there are for photos without needing to travel anywhere. The property has towering trees, wooden bridges, mountain views, and of course the little waterfall that Log Haven is known for. Walking over to the waterfall for portraits was easily one of the highlights of the day. The rocky canyon backdrop and flowing water make such a stunning setting for photos, especially during winter when the tones of the landscape feel rich and moody. The whole portrait portion of the day felt really relaxed and playful, lots of laughter from the wedding party and those natural moments that always end up being everyone’s favorite photos.

A Cozy Lunch Reception Inside Log Haven
One of the best parts of having a winter wedding at Log Haven is how smoothly everything flows into the reception inside the restaurant. Instead of a big evening reception, this celebration continued with a cozy lunch surrounded by the people who matter most. The restaurant space itself feels like a warm mountain lodge. With the wood beams, large windows looking out into the canyon, and the intimate dining setup, it creates such a welcoming environment for guests. Everyone gathered together to share a meal, talk, laugh, and celebrate the newly married couple. It was the perfect way to end a morning wedding, relaxed, heartfelt, and focused on being together.

Why Log Haven Is Perfect for Intimate Winter Weddings
If you’re considering a smaller mountain wedding, Log Haven is honestly such a great option. The scenery in Millcreek Canyon is beautiful year-round, but there’s something extra cozy about the winter season. Between the ceremony tent, the amazing restaurant experience, and all the photo spots around the property (especially the waterfall), everything you need for a meaningful celebration is right there. A winter wedding at Log Haven makes it easy to create a day that feels relaxed, beautiful, and intentional. You get the peaceful mountain setting, incredible food, and a venue that truly knows how to host intimate weddings well!
