This hot Icelandic couple gave all the warm fuzzy feels at their couples session, and I’m not just talking about the insanely soft sweaters they came to the party in. In front of the world-famous Skogafoss waterfall, Edda and Viktor met up with us for the most jaw-dropping session I have ever done, in the best Iceland photography location.
Skogafoss is located in the Southern region of Iceland. It is one of Iceland’s most popular waterfalls to visit as it is just a few feet from the parking lot and easily accessible. The path is relatively flat in order for travelers from all around the globe to experience the vastness of this fall up close and personal. You can also hike the 370 steps to the top of Skogafoss to gain an incredible viewpoint overlooking the coast as well as many other waterfalls.
We met up with our couple early in the morning in order to avoid the large crowds the massive waterfall attracts. It was a relatively chilly morning when coming from my home town which was currently at 100-degree weather. When we started our session it was a mere 40 degrees Fahrenheit, but was totally worth it though as there were only three other groups out taking photos. We started just before the sun came up over the mountain and the lighting was perfect! (insert chef’s kiss) These two lovers killed their session! They were so fun and easygoing and were up for doing anything and everything. We threw all the romantic feels there way and they didn’t disappoint!
After the session was over we stopped by the Skogafoss Bistro Bar to warm up with a Swiss Mocca. The restaurant didn’t open until noon so we skipped over to Skogar Village to take a look at the adorable grass-roofed huts and tiny homes. If you are in the area be sure to check out the Skogar Museum to learn the interesting history of Skogafoss and the lost treasure chest. The museum is full of amazing facts, and actually had one of the best hot dogs I had during my entire stay. While you are in the area be sure to also check out Kvernufoss which is located across the parking lot of Skogafoss to the East, and is only a 0.9-mile out-and-back trail that is relatively flat and easy. This waterfall makes for another amazing Iceland photography location. Be sure to also check out an amazing elopement shoot we did at the amazing Kvernufoss as well!
