TWO SOULS,

If you have looked at any of my work recently you probably can tell I love to shoot in the red rocks. When we decided to host our retreat in Colorado Springs I knew Garden of the Gods would be a location we couldn’t miss out on. While this location certainly draws large crowds of people, there are many spots you can sneak off to have your perfect red rocks Colorado elopement.

We started this shoot with a short hike to what the rock formation called the Siamese Twins, bet you can’t guess how they came up with that name! 🙂 The two ginormous identical rocks are a serious jaw-dropper. How in the world these random red rocks get to where they are is beyond me…geology man. Michael and Jaye were actually getting married the next week. So, this ended up being a great test run for them, and they absolutely crushed it! Right next to the siamese twins, we were able to walk out to a rock ledge that overlooked the incredible Pikes Peak mountain. Here, they were able to practice saying their vows to each other as if they were having a real elopement in the Colorado red rocks.

The best thing about shooting at Garden of the Gods is the whole park takes about ten minutes to drive. So, you can easily hit up multiple spots for your shoot, and many of them give completely different vibes. After we were done at the Siamese Twins we drove around to High Point Overlook. This is by far one of the best views in the park and the most accessible. Which means lots of people. If you choose this location be prepared for crowds.

If you are looking to elope in Colorado, and are as obsessed with uniquely colored rocks as I am, be sure to also check out this location for your special day.
