TWO SOULS,

If you’ve been dreaming about a wedding that feels like it belongs somewhere in the Italian countryside or the south of France, this one’s for you! This wedding at The Wild Oak has all of those timeless, European-inspired details without ever leaving Utah. Between the garden ceremony, classic white florals, and elegant architecture, every part of the day felt simple, intentional, and so beautiful. It’s exactly the kind of wedding that reminds me you don’t need a passport to create that old-world feel.

Why a Wedding at The Wild Oak Feels Like a Hidden European Garden

The first thing that stood out to me about The Wild Oak was how much character it has. The ceremony space is tucked into a beautiful garden with mature trees, climbing greenery, weathered wood, and soft white draping that instantly gives it that European estate vibe. The best part is that it doesn’t need much. The venue already feels so beautiful on its own, so couples can keep their design simple and still have a day that looks incredibly elegant.

That’s exactly what happened here, and I honestly think it made everything feel even more timeless! One thing I also love is how versatile the property is. Whether you’re planning something intimate with just your closest people or a larger celebration, the venue still feels warm and inviting instead of overwhelming. It has that balance of being elegant without feeling too formal, which is exactly what makes it feel so European to me.

Sometimes Less Really Is More

One of my favorite things about this wedding was how everything worked together without feeling overdone. The bride wore a sleek gown, the groom kept it classic in a black suit, and the white florals tied everything together without taking away from the venue itself. Even the weather played along. The cloudy skies gave us the dreamiest soft light all day, which made the garden feel even more cozy and romantic. It was proof that you don’t always need bright sunshine for beautiful wedding photos. I think that’s what makes this style stand out. It’s not about filling every space with decorations or following every trend. When you have a venue this beautiful, a few thoughtful details go a long way. The result is a wedding that feels effortless now and will still look just as beautiful years from now.

Portraits That Feel Effortless at a Wedding at The Wild Oak

One thing I always appreciate is when we don’t have to spend half the wedding day driving between photo locations. At The Wild Oak, we had everything we needed right on the property. We wandered through the gardens, used the ceremony space after everyone headed to cocktail hour, found a few quiet indoor spots when we wanted a different look, and finished outside once the venue started glowing in the evening. It made the whole portrait experience feel relaxed, and honestly, I think that’s when couples look the most like themselves.

As a photographer, venues like this are always exciting because every corner offers something different. We didn’t have to search for good light or interesting backgrounds, they were everywhere. That means we could spend less time thinking about photos and more time letting the couple actually enjoy their wedding day, and those are almost always the images that end up being everyone’s favorites!
